Shibuya KURODATOEN

Greetings from the Director

「A World filled with Beautiful things」

All living things are beautiful. The world is filled with flowers, mountains, oceans, and human beings. Human beings have been searching for everlasting beauty since the ancient times in such things as art, music, architecture, painting, calligraphy, all man-made things, and also ceramic art give us strength and fill our lives with joy.

Plenty of arts, especially ceramic arts, give us joy from use. We enjoy arranging flowers, serving foods, pouring sake and toasting, and having tea with the use of ceramics. We hope you will use only the finest ceramics so that you can enjoy the best things in daily life.

Life becomes richer when you use things of beauty consciously. You can look at it, touch it, and feel it directly. There is no need to look at them from behind the glass here. You can taste, absorb and understand it deeper than when you are at the museums.

We are introducing to you modern through contemporary arts and artists by utilizing our knowledge and experience and looking for the next beautiful pieces. We hope that we are going to continue on our path in ceramics by growing and communicating with all of you.
