素山先生の八十歳を記念して名古屋松坂屋と日本橋三越で八十碗展が行われた。素山先生の仕事の集大成の展示会になったことは語り草になっている。この茶碗は素山先生らしい豊かで大らかな造形に大胆な深い箆目が入れられ、黄胡麻と黒胡麻がかかる。更にはこの印象的な金直しもあることから名碗として名高い。傘寿の展示会を代表する茶碗と言える作品である。
In commemoration of Sozan's 80th birthday, an exhibition of 80 bowls was held at Matsuzakaya Nagoya and Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi. It is said that it became the exhibition of the culmination of Sozan's work. This tea bowl has a bold and deep spatula on the rich and generous form that is typical of Sozan, and is covered with yellow and black Goma-effect.
