やきものを始めて35年程になる、最近よく「基」について考える。
何故、やきものを始めたのか？
何故、やきものを選んだのか？
制作の岐路に立つ時いつも自身に問いかけてきた、やきものの何に惹かれたのか？
基を大事にしたい、そんな思いで眺めていると「基」という字は瓶の形のようにも見えてくる。
I've been making pottery for about 35 years now, and lately I've been thinking a lot about "基(base)".
Why did I start making pottery?
Why did I choose pottery?
When I'm at a crossroads in my creations, I always ask myself what it is about pottery that attracts me?
Looking at the kanji character "基" with the thought to cherish the base, the character starts to look like the shape of a vase.
