Exhibition 【金工 長谷川清吉展】Exhibition of Hasegawa Seikichi

彫金の古典技法に、透彫りや象嵌、魚々子を使った毛彫りがある。
これらは、祭器や荘厳具などに施され、厳格な印象をあたえているもの。

この素晴らしい技法をもって、何か新たな表現はできないものか。
現代にいきる金工家として、自分なりの見せ方を模索し、
この個展に出品いたします。

There are techniques of Japanese chasing such as openwork, inlaid, and nanako pattern (repeated dots look like fish eggs, created by a graver).
These have been used on implements for Buddhist rites and rituals.

Are there any creative expressions using those techniques?
The presented works are new proposals as a chaser of the present age.
