Exhibition 京橋・魯卿あん【掌中の音樂　岡部嶺男展】Exhibition of Mineo Okabe

当苑では2006年に嶺男先生とご縁の深かった料亭のコレクション「珠玉の器　岡部嶺男特集」、2008年には小山冨士夫先生に捧げる昭和銘瓶を含む７点の瓶子を展示した「岡部嶺男展 ― 壺愁 ―」を開催させていただきました。
この10年間で日本の陶芸を取り巻く環境は大きく変わり、日本国内だけに留まらず海外に多くの優れた作品がコレクターや美術館を中心に収蔵されてきました。殊に嶺男先生の優品は欧米を中心とするコレクターの垂涎の的となっている背景から、一堂に見ていただけるまでかなりの時間が掛かってしまいました。
この度は珠玉の茶碗を中心に「掌中の音樂　岡部嶺男展」を開催する運びとなりました。

We have held the exhibition of Mineo Okabe in 2006 and 2008. The former is the collection of an owner of Japanese traditional restaurant who used to have a close connection to Mr. Okabe. The title of the exhibition is “Shugyoku no Utsuwa (the gem pottery)”, and the latter entitled “Koshu (壷愁, vases, sorrow,)” showcasing seven jars including the one dedicated to Mr. Fujio Koyama after the famous counterfeit case.
The circumstance of Japanese pottery has changed dramatically in recent ten years, and a numbers of excellent items have collected by museums and private collectors overseas as well as Japanese. Especially the works of Mineo are objects of envy by the European collectors, so it took long time for us to collect a certain amount of items and hold an exhibition. Now, we are pleased to have his special exhibition “The exhibition of Mineo, the music by his hands.”
