Exhibition 【新里明士新作展】 Exhibition of NIISATO Akio

光を当てると透模様が浮かび上がる「蛍手」の技法を用い、純白の素地に無数の円跡を施す。
多量の手数でありながら作品からは激しい主張はなく、むしろ理性的な印象を受ける。
繊細な仕事は陰影にやわらかなグラデーションを生み、温かみを感じさせられる。

The technique called “Hotaru de”, so called Linglong ware, that the surface is pierced and enhanced with glaze, was born in the Ming and Qing dynasty in China. Having countless holes with translucent glaze, his white porcelain reflects and let through the lights. Although he needs a great patience in making process, the artwork seems not to have strong expression but is intellectual. The sensitive work gives beautiful rich gradation of light and shadow.
We would be very happy to show his luminescent works in this exhibition.
