＜作家あいさつ＞
美しさを宿すものを求め、
その響きが時を越え、
人の心にそっと留まることを願ってきました。
一本の樹よりわずかに得られる漆は、自然の奇跡です。
その光は、貝や金属、卵殻と重なり合い、
ひとつの作品の中に無限の表情を映し出します。
古の技法に耳を澄まし、
その叡智を今に生かしながら、
現代の感性と呼吸する漆芸として
いかにかたちを遺せるのか―。
その問いとともに歩むことが、
私にとって漆と生きる意味にほかなりません。
ひとつひとつの作品が、
皆さまの心に小さな光をともすことを願っております。
来歴
1960年 東京都調布市生まれ
1986年 金沢美術工芸大学大学院修了
朝日現代クラフト展ジュエリー部門賞
2006年 高岡クラフトコンペ 漆マテリアル賞
2010年 石川県デザイン賞
2017年 金沢市工芸展最優秀賞
2024年 「工＋藝」2024東京美術倶楽部大賞
現在 金沢美術工芸大学長

[Greetings from the Artist]
I have always sought out things that embody beauty,
hoping that their resonance will transcend time and
remain softly in people's hearts.
Urushi lacquer, which is obtained in small quantities from a single tree, is a miracle of nature.
Its light overlaps with shells, metal, and eggshells,
reflecting infinite expressions within a single piece of work.
How can I preserve lacquer art that breathes modern sensibilities while listening closely to the voice of ancient techniques and utilizing their wisdom in the present? Walking with this question is the very meaning of my life with lacquer. I hope that each and every piece will inspire a small spark of light in your heart.
[Biography]
Born in Chofu, Tokyo in 1960
1986: Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art
Awarded the Jewelry Category Award at the Asahi Contemporary Craft Exhibition
2006: Lacquer Material Award at the Takaoka Craft Competition
2010: Ishikawa Prefecture Design Award
2017: Grand Prize at the Kanazawa City Craft Exhibition
2024: "KO + GEI" 2024 Tokyo Art Club Grand Prize
Currently: President of Kanazawa College of Art
