　私は一九四〇年生まれですから本年中に満八十五歳になります。
　ところが気付いて見ると今年ほど忙しかった一年はかつてありませんでした。
　今年の黒田陶苑での作品発表が本年四回目の個展開催になります。
　出品内容は茶器九点、塗茶杓十点、茶杓下削り十点ほどですが、ほかに花入三点、オブジェ二点、平面作品一点が加わります。
　茶器は天然記念物のシボ竹を使った作品が中心、塗茶杓は溜塗と黒塗の作に金彩を加えた作品です。
　茶杓下削りとは、茶杓と筒を完成させたもので、その筒に銘を書入れた方の作品になるのです。
　私が千利休の茶杓下削り師「甫竹」や、小堀遠州の下削り師「村田一斎」に替ったような仕事です。利休形・宗和形・遠州形・石州形など美しい煤竹で 種々削ってみました。
　能登を救援するチャリティーに遠州形の下削りを出品したところ好評を得ましたので個展で初めての試みとしました。

Greetings from the Artist

I am going to be 85 since I was born in 1940. However, I noticed that this year is the busiest year I've ever had.
This exhibition in Kurodatoen will be the fourth solo exhibit this year. There will be 9 tea caddies, 10 lacquered tea scoops, 10 curved tea scoops, 3 flower vases, 2 objects, and a two-dimensional artwork. Tea caddies are mainly made of smoked bamboo which is a natural monument. As for tea scoops, they are clear lacquered and black lacquered with gold enamels. When we say “tea scoop’s curving”, it is a completed work of the tea scoop and its container. When the one writes the name on the container, it will be their piece. My works are like “Hochiku” who was a tea ladle artist of Sen no Rikyū or Kobori Ensyu’s tea ladle artist, “MURATA Issai”. I tried many types of works with beautiful smoked bamboo such as Rikyu-style, Sowa-style, Ensyu-style, and Sekisyu-style. Since Ensyu-style curving was popular at the charity exhibition for Noto, I also decided to try creating for my solo exhibition. I look forward to your visit from my heart.
