ごあいさつ

　本年、EXPO 2025（大阪関西万博）の開幕に合わせて初めてのアートフェアOIA（OSAKA INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2025）が5月30日から6月1日に行われます。海外からの大勢のお客様と美術関係者が来られることも予想しておりますが、しぶや黒田陶苑では特別展「半泥子」を開催する運びとなりました。ご愛蔵家の協力のもと、重要なお作品をお借りして今回の展示を行います。日本人には琳派の祖の一人、本阿弥光悦と比較される数奇者や風流人として、あるいは「東の魯山人　西の半泥子」などとも言われておりますが、まだまだ世界の方々には認識がされていないと思っております。この機会に半泥子先生の偉業が一人でも多くの方に伝わること願っております。

In celebration of EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, the Osaka International Art Fair (OIA) 2025 will take place for the first time from May 30 to June 1.
Anticipating the visiting of art devotees and museum-related personnel from around the world, we are pleased to present a special exhibition “Handeishi,” made possible with the generous cooperation of a distinguished private collector.
KAWAKITA Handeishi is known to the Japanese as a refined tea master whose aesthetic sensibility rivals that of Hon’ami Koetsu, one of the founders of the Rimpa school. He is also referred to as “Rosanjin in the East, Handeishi in the West,” symbolizing the two towering figures in the ceramic world of their time, although he is still little known internationally.
We hope this exhibition will introduce many to the remarkable achievements of his lifelong artistic pursuits.
