1898年 愛知県瀬戸市に生まれる
1914年 築窯し作陶に入る。その傍ら、瀬戸及び周辺古窯の発掘調査を行う
1929年 瀬戸古窯調査保存会を設立し理事長に就任
1947年 名古屋で日本陶芸協会を設立し理事長に就任
1950年 日本陶磁協会理事に就任
1952年 織部焼の技術で国の無形文化財有資格者に認定
1956年 日本文化芸術使節団の一員として諸外国を訪問
1957年 日ソ工芸展実行委員会長として活躍
1960年 日本陶磁協会、日本工芸会各理事、日本伝統工芸展、朝日陶芸展の 各審査委
員など全ての公職を辞し、作陶に専念する
1964年 「東京オリンピック記念加藤唐九郎陶芸展」開催
1965年 毎日芸術賞を受賞
1977年 作品集『陶藝唐九郎』を刊行
1985年 87歳で死去
He pursued "something new" all his lifetime. He was a chief director of the Japan Ceramic Society and Japanese Traditional Arts and Crafts. He was nominated as a Living National Treasure for his Kiseto work, but he didn't accept it. He died in 1985.

1898 Born in Seto, Aichi
1914 Searched for the roots of Seto and tried to revive Oribe, Kiseto (yellow Seto), and Shino wares in the Momoyama era's style. Built a kiln and started his career as a potter.
1929 Established Seto Old Kiln Preservation Society and become the chief director.
1947 Established Japan Pottery Association in Nagoya and become the chief director.
1950 Become one of director of Japan Ceramic Society
1952 He was designated a holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) in Oribe.
1956 Visited foreign counties as a member of Japan Culture and Art Mission
1957 Acted as an Executive committee of Japan and Soviet Union Craft Exhibition.
1960 resigned a chief director of Japan Ceramic Society and Japan Kogei Association, and the committee of Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and Asahi Ceramic Exhibition, and concentrated on making pottery.
1964 Held a Exhibition of Kato Tokuro Commemorating Tokyo Olympic.
1965 Awarded at Mainichi Art Award.
1977 Published his portfolio book.
